Enhancing Postural Stability through Hip Exercises for Chronic Lower Back Pain Relief

Lower back pain (LBP) occurs in 80% of the general population at least once during a person’s lifetime, with the highest prevalence rate being in the 40–80 age group.
90% of non-specific LBP (NSLBP) cases are classified as chronic LBP
Factors that can lead to non-specific low back pain are:
Lumbar Subluxations
Hip height differences
Weak core muscles
Weak hip muscles
Muscle fatigue
A 2025 study did some research into whether adding additional exercises could help low back pain patients
They found "patients with chronic non-specific low back pain with restricted hip extension mobility, additional hip exercises along with spinal stabilisation exercises with hip mobilisation better improved postural stability and functional ability compared with patients performing spinal stabilisation exercises with hip mobilisation alone"
Some muscles we recommend focusing on are:
Hip Abductor (plays a crucial role in posture stability)
Gluteus Medius
Core muscles
Iliopsoas muscle
Multifidus
