Researchers looked at children aged 7–16 who had isolated gastrocnemius tightness (IGT) — a condition where the calf muscle is too tight, limiting how far the ankle can flex upward (known as dorsiflexion).
They compared these kids to their healthy peers and found that those with calf tightness showed:
