Our Customised Massage Therapy Modalities

We do not believe in generic, one-size-fits-all treatments. At our Sunbury and Melton clinics, our qualified therapists custom-tailor their techniques to match your exact structural needs. Our core focus areas include:

  • Remedial Massage: Targeted, assessment-based muscle manipulation designed to reduce chronic pain, ease restricted movement, and repair damaged soft tissues.

  • Deep Tissue Massage: Utilises slow, firm strokes to reach deeper layers of muscle tissue and fascia—highly effective for breaking down chronic muscle knots and persistent tension.

  • Sports Massage: Engineered specifically for active individuals and local athletes to accelerate workout recovery, improve flexibility, and prevent training injuries.

  • Stress Relief & Relaxation Massage: A soothing, light-to-medium pressure treatment designed to calm the central nervous system, boost circulation, and reduce emotional fatigue.

What are signs you need a massage?

The therapeutic practice of manipulating the muscles and limbs is a time-honoured method aimed at easing tension, alleviating pain, and promoting overall health. Our skilled therapists utilise a variety of techniques to address specific issues, whether they stem from daily stressors, athletic activities, or chronic conditions. This personalised approach allows us to effectively target problem areas and enhance your physical well-being.

Massage therapy can serve as a crucial component of physical therapy or can be practised independently, depending on your needs and preferences. Many individuals find that regular massage sessions not only help in managing pain but also contribute to improved flexibility and range of motion, making it an ideal complement to any fitness regimen.

What is Hot Stone Massage?

A hot stone massage is a deeply relaxing treatment that combines traditional massage techniques with the soothing warmth of smooth, heated basalt stones. The stones are gently placed on key areas of the body and also used by the therapist during the massage to help release muscle tension, improve circulation, and promote total body relaxation.

The heat from the stones allows muscles to relax more quickly, making the massage both therapeutic and calming. Many people choose hot stone massage to help reduce stress, ease tight muscles, improve sleep quality, and support recovery from busy lifestyles, physical activity, or long hours sitting at a desk.

Hot stone massage may help with:

  • Muscle tension and stiffness

  • Stress and anxiety

  • Poor circulation

  • Fatigue and low energy

  • Recovery after exercise

  • Relaxation and improved wellbeing

Whether you’re looking to unwind after a stressful week, relieve muscle tightness, or simply take time to recharge, a hot stone massage offers a calming experience that supports both physical and mental wellbeing.

Massage vs. Myotherapy: What is the Difference?

When choosing the right soft-tissue treatment, patients frequently question the core differences between these two methodologies:

  • Traditional Massage: Primarily targets overall muscle tension relief, circulation enhancement, and general relaxation.

  • Traditional Myotherapy: Focuses heavily on a clinical, assessment-driven approach to complex musculoskeletal dysfunction.

  • Our Unique 'Therapeutic Massage' Approach: At Health Wise Chiropractic, our sessions elegantly bridge the gap between both disciplines. We combine deep muscle hygiene with clinical, evidence-informed reasoning to actively complement your spinal alignment, delivering comprehensive relief in a single visit. You know your massage is backed by a 5 year university degree and delivered from a Dr of Chiropractic with over 15 years of experience

Advanced Clinical Add-Ons for Deeper Recovery

To maximise your muscle relaxation and accelerate joint mobilisation, we offer specialised clinical enhancements that can be seamlessly integrated into your 30 to 120-minute massage sessions across Sunbury and Melton:

  • Cupping Therapy:  Utilises localised suction to draw fresh blood flow into tight fascial layers, releasing stubborn trigger points and flushing metabolic waste.

  • Dry Needling:  Precision targeting of deep neuromuscular knots to instantly switch off persistent pain signals and restore resting muscle length.

  • Hot Stone Therapy: Incorporates smooth, heated stones onto the body to deeply penetrate stiff muscle fibres, melting away tension before manual work begins.

  • Patient Comfort Note: Every treatment room features premium natural massage oils and adjustable heated blankets to ensure your body remains fully warm and relaxed throughout your care.
