Bad posture ? It could be upper crossed syndrome

UPPER CROSS SYNDROME

Usually beginning in childhood, made worse by prolonged study in teenage years and then in adulthood with prolonged sitting in front of the computer/phone/tablet.

Overtime we develop a flexion dominant posture. The pecs, upper traps, levator scapular become shortened and tight

The Rhomboids, serratus anterior, middle and lower traps and deep neck flexors are weakened

Other conditions associated with upper cross syndrome are : cervical facet pain, cervicogenic headaches, anterior shoulder impingement, thoracic facet pain, rotator cuff injuries, tension headaches, thoracic outlet syndrome, spinal degeneration and dowager hump

What we do-We adjust the cervical and thoracic spine, stretches to the shortened muscles
