The Benefits of Chiropractic Neck Adjustments: What You Need to Know
When it comes to my practice, there are two main reasons people come in for a visit- neck pain (with or without headaches) and lower back pain
Neck pain is one of the leading causes of pain and disability in the world, and chiropractic has been shown to be an effective treatment option for all age groups
The research looked into what happens to a patient's facet joints when you get adjusted and what are the effects after an adjustment
So before we talk about the results - what the heck are facet joints
Well facet joints are the joints that are the CONNECTIONS between the bones of the spine
This serves as a pathway for the nerves to travel from the spinal cord to the extremities
Facet joints are essential for the rotation and twisting motions of the spine
Now let's get into what research shows chiropractors can do with the facet joints
DURING the adjustment, The facet gap increased DURING the adjustment
The results demonstrate that target and adjacent motion segments undergo facet joint gapping during adjustments and that the intervertebral ROM is INCREASED in all three planes of motion after adjustments
