Is Adhesive Capsulitis Causing You Shoulder Pain?

So what is Adhesive Capsulitis?

Whilst the cause is unknown, people with diabetes, hyperthyroidism or lung disease might be predisposed to having this condition

Pain in the shoulder that is limited in ALL shoulder movement is often called Adhesive Capsulitis. There is often no trauma and is insidious in onset.

There is often 3 stages

Stage 1- inflammatory stage- we recommend sleeping on the the unaffected side and on the affected side have a pillow for support to avoid internal rotation of the shoulder

Stage 2- stiffening stage - we recommend walk walking exercises, pulley exercises and muscle stretching

Stage3- Thawing stage- Perform active Codmans and Wall walking exercise as well as rotator cuff muscle stretches

How Can Health Wise Chiropractic Help?

Management form the chiropractors in most effective in the later stages. We focus on using Ultrasound therapy coupled with soft tissue therapy with Chiropractic adjustments to the cervical(neck) to aid in healing.

The best stretch to do is with the wand as seen below
