Why Cupping Could Be the Solution for Your Long-Term Pain
In 2019, the estimated global prevalence of chronic musculoskeletal disorders reached 1.52 billion cases
Some drugs like opioid painkillers have been opposed by current guidelines for CMP, because of the rising rates of opioid overdose deaths and other serious harms
It has been indicated that long-term use of non-opioid drugs for relieving CMP (eg, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and Cyclooxygenase-2) may produce serious gastrointestinal side effects and increase cardiovascular risks
Why Cupping ?
Cupping therapy has been used for long term neck pain and low back pain relief .
The normal impacts after cupping therapy are circular erythematous spots with no painful sensation and no restriction to daily activities. Some researchers have suggested that cupping therapy can improve blood flow, which may contribute to its therapeutic effect. The increasing blood flow has been indicated as effective in removing glutamate, lactate and pyruvate, which are biochemical biomarkers in CMP regions
What to expect with cupping
Dr Julian usually allows several minutes for the cups to be left on the tight muscle
Then re assess the muscle flexibility
After 3-5 sessions, we usually start to see some results and improved pain and less motion restriction
