Could You Have De Quervain's Tenosynovitis? Identifying Symptoms and Treatment Options

What is de Quervains Tenosynovitis

- My patients usually complain of pain on the radial side of the wrist

- It is usually from activities that require forceful gripping with ulnar deviation

- It can be also from repetitive use of the thumb

What is the cause?

Not to confuse you with big long words, but the two main culprits are abductor policies longs (APL) and extensor policies brevis(EPL). What happens is that there are several microtraumas to the tenosynovium or the sheath.

How can Health Wise Chiropractic help?

Research can show that initial treatment of ultrasound therapy and talking to your G.P to see if the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can help you as well. Very rarely surgical intervention is needed
