The hamstrings are a big muscle group that flex the knee joint and extend the hip

Tight hamstrings can be caused by sitting too long ( remember from our other blog, we should aim for less than 6 hours a day ), hamstring curl exercises, sports like soccer and tennis, and poor posture.


Research looked into how long you should stretch to improve the hamstring muscle


A 30-second duration is an effective amount of time to increase the range of motion of the hamstring muscle


NO increase in flexibility occurred when the duration was doubled from 30 to 60 seconds. NO improvements were seen when the frequency was increased from one to three times per day.
