Why Sitting for Too Long May Be Harmful to Your Health

Now that i have your attention

Research shows we shouldn’t be sitting at our workplace for more than 6 hours a day- its so important that we did a blog about workplace ergonomics so have a read into that

Now there is some evidence that sitting can cause compression of the L4 L5 disc and lead to disc degeneration

With low back pain affecting nearly 9 out of 10 people in their lifetime, its so important to eliminate bad lifestyle factors

Our workplaces are changing, we are moving away from manufacturing jobs into a service based economy with sedentary jobs increasing

MULTIPLE STUDIES have shown that prolonged sitting can lead to low back pain, increase in intra fiscal pressure, disc bulges, protrusions, and even herniations

The research found that the greatest change in lumbar disc height was at L45 after prolonged sitting WITHOUT intermittent breaks

So get up, go get a glass of water, or go for a walk around the office, go annoy Susan down the hall , just get up from the chair and start MOVING
