Relieving DOMS Through the Benefits of Massage and Muscle Therapy

Delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) is a common condition that typically develops within 12 to 24 h after exercise, peaks at 24 to 72 h, and usually resolves within 7 days
A 2025 study looked into what the effects of massage where on the body after exercise
The best amount of time was around 40 minutes , as athletes recovered better compared to a 25-minute therapy session
The Massage therapy
alleviated pain
Accelerated the recovery of lower-body flexibility
improved strength
Muscle therapy is more effective than static stretching
How many sessions do you need?
The study compared a twice-a-week protocol, with some receiving 25 and some 40-minute sessions
The 40-minute twice a week fared better
