👶💪 Babywearing: Great for Baby, Tough on Your Back?
Babywearing has become super popular—and for good reason! It keeps little ones close, calms them down, and even helps support healthy spinal development. Plus, who doesn’t love those extra snuggles? ❤️
But let’s talk about what happens to the adult body when carrying that cute bundle of joy.

📊 Research in 2025 showed:
Front babywearing activates more muscles than back babywearing… which means more strength work, but also more fatigue and potential for strain.
Upper back & shoulder muscles (like the trapezius) get worked harder—especially with heavier babies and certain carrier styles.
Posture shifts happen too: your pelvis, head, and trunk all adjust under the load, sometimes creating more sway and imbalance.
Carrying in arms vs. a sling? Your knees, hips, and stride take more of a hit when you skip the carrier! (Up to 25% more effort).

✨ What this means for parents:
Babywearing is a great tool, but it’s also a workout!
Mix up front vs. back carrying to give muscles a break.
Choose ergonomic carriers that spread the load evenly.
Listen to your body—soreness and tightness are signs your muscles are asking for help.
And of course… that’s where we come in! 🙌Chiropractic care can help keep your spine, hips, and shoulders balanced so you can enjoy the benefits of babywearing without the backache.
So next time you strap on that carrier, remember—you’re not just carrying your baby, you’re giving your body a workout. 😉
