Research has looked into how Dry needling can help with Hip Pain

Piriformis muscle syndrome (PMS) is a condition that can lead to symptoms including gluteal pain, local tenderness, and limitation of hip joint motion in daily activities, and it may have a major impact on some daily functions such as gait.

The piriformis muscle originates from the anterior surface of the sacrum and inserts on the greater trochanter of the femur, playing a key role in hip rotation, abduction, and collaborating with the gluteal muscles in hip extension

Studies showed that PMS occurs between 12% and 27% during the fourth and fifth decades of life in the general population

Research has shown that dry needling can improve hip extension after a week's worth of treatment.

Research has looked into how Dry needling can help with Low Back Pain

They found that low back patients had lower pain in the initial phase of care with using dry needling compared to the stretching and massage groups

Stretching and massage were however more effective in improving the range of motion, that's why we offer many treatment options at Health Wise Chiropractic as they all play a role in the healing process

Back pain is one of the major global challenges and is one of the most prevalent musculoskeletal disorders occurring in 80% of people at least once in their lifetime

Research has looked into how Dry needling can help with Tension-Type Headaches

Tension-type headache is the most prevalent type of headache and is commonly associated with myofascial pain syndrome and the presence of active myofascial trigger points.

Over the 3 sessions , the dry-needling patients had fewer muscle trigger points and improved short-term headaches.

Research has looked into how Dry needling can help with Calf - Leg Pain

Research compared runners who received massage-style treatment versus dry-needling

Both treatments were effective in improving pain in the active runners and dry needling showed better results. The massage was more effective in improving the ankle's range of motion immediately.

Research has looked into how Dry needling can help with Pelvic Pain

Chronic pelvic pain (CPP) is a debilitating problem in women with clear evidence of myofascial dysfunction. It seems that Myofascial trigger points (MTrPs) contribute to the development of central sensitization (CS)

The phenomenon known as central sensitization (CS) has been introduced as a cause of chronic pain development

CS is an increase in the responsiveness of nociceptive neurons in the central nervous system to regular, or subthreshold afferent input. The most common indicators of CS are hyperalgesia, allodynia and widespread pain

After 5 sessions of dry needling, patients reported less pain
